Adolescent Therapy
Adolescent Therapy seeks to improve problem solving and conflict resolution, as well at supplying teenagers with tools for increasing resilience and joy.
Sitting and talking is not always the preference for an adolescent. I offer age-appropriate activities that compliment our work together and assist the teen in feeling more comfortable with therapy. Depending on the client’s needs, it is helpful—though not always required—that the parent and teen attend the first session together.
Some of my adolescent specialties include:
Anxiety, Decision-making Skills, Developing Confidence, Eating Disorders, Gender Identity, Managing Emotions, Reunification, Self-acceptance, Self-defeating Behaviors, Self-esteem, Self-harm, Social Phobias, Stress, and Suicidal Thoughts.
One-on-one sessions usually last 45-55 minutes.
